
The theme of the seminar is Historical Ethnobiology and will be conducted by Prof. Dr. Argus Vasconcelos de Almeida from the Department of Biology at UFRPE. This seminar is part of the syllabus of the Advanced Seminars 1 course and is open to the interested public.
About Prof. Dr. Argus Vasconcelos de Almeida:
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Pernambuco (1975), a Teaching degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Pernambuco (1977), a Master's degree in Agronomy (Phytosanitary) from the Rural Federal University of Pernambuco (1982), and a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from the Federal University of Pernambuco (2007). He has experience in the field of Zoology, with an emphasis on Entomology, mainly working on the following topics: history of biology, entomology, biology textbooks, history of science, and the natural history of Dutch Brazil.
