ADVANCED SEMINARS PPGEC 2018.1

The Graduate Program in Science Teaching at UFRPE begins the Advanced Seminars for 2018.1, bringing important topics and debates for the development of researchers in the field of science and mathematics education.

The PPGEC Advanced Seminars are open to the interested community, which can register and receive a certificate of participation on the day of the event.

The first seminar will be given by Professor Dr. Marcos Danhoni Neves, from the State University of Maringá, on the topic "The Phenomenological Perspective and Research in Science Education." The event will be held via videoconference on April 17, 2018, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Room 4B of PPGEC (Block B of the Department of Education).

Prof. Dr. Marcos Danhoni Neves (State University of Maringá)

Professor since 2001, he works in the Graduate Programs in Science and Technology Teaching (UTFPR/PG) and in Education for Science and Mathematics (PCM). He was a Visiting Professor in the International Master in Science Program (BUAP-Puebla-Mexico/INSA-Lyon-France/UTFPR-PG) for the chair of Intercultural Education. Science Communicator and Educator. He graduated in Physics from the State University of Maringá (1983), holds a Master's in Physics from the State University of Campinas (1986), and a PhD in Education from the State University of Campinas (1991). He is a specialist in Education and Science Communication from MASHAV-Jerusalem (Israel -1991/92). He conducted postdoctoral research at the Laboratory of Science Didactics at the Department of Physics of the University of Rome La Sapienza, Italy (1995/96). He was a fellow of the Istituto Italo-Latino Americano (Rome-Italy), Ministero degli Affari Esteri (Rome-Italy), Ministry of Foreign Affairs-MASHAV (Jerusalem-Israel), Warburg Institute (University College of London - England), and Istitulo per gli Studi Filosofici - Naples (Italy). He translated the Process of Giordano Bruno and the complete correspondence between Cigoli and Galileo. He coordinated numerous projects involving FINEP, CNPq, CAPES, and ARAUCÁRIA (SPEC, PROCIÊNCIAS, PROIN, MUSEUMS OF SCIENCE). He has experience in Science Education and Communication, Scientific Literacy, Verbo-Visual Language applied to Science Communication, History with an emphasis on History and Epistemology of the Sciences. He was Secretary of SBPC-PR from 2004 to 2009. He teaches in the Visual Arts Degree course (Interdisciplinary Dialogue between Art and Science) and in Music (Acoustics). He has organized all editions of the NATIONAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY WEEK (CNPq/MCT, SBPC). He coordinates the Circus Stellarium Planetarium and the Paranaense Art-Science Workshop and the International Meeting on Art-Science. He coordinated the exhibition "The 400 Years of the Invention of the Telescope and its Developments in Art." He participated in PNLEM 2007 (National High School Book Plan). He participated and coordinated the evaluation of Elementary and High School Education in the State of Paraná (AVA-2000). He participates in the evaluation and monitoring of Graduate Programs in Science Education (including Qualis-Books meetings). He was the Director of Culture from 2009 to 2010. In 2010, he received the Paranaense Science and Technology Award (24th edition) - Human Sciences category during the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the FUNDAÇÃO ARAUCÁRIA - an event promoted by SETI (Secretary of Science and Technology-PR).
